    GOLF COURSES - LONG ISLAND
    Bethpage State Park
99 Quaker Meeting House Rd., Farmingdale
    Info: (516) 249-0700 | Res: (516) 249-0707
There are actually five 18-hole golf courses here - the most famous of these, the Black Couse, hosted the U.S. Open in 2002 and will host again in 2009.

  • The Black Course is a difficult and challenging course that should be played only by low-handicap golfers. The course is for walkers only and its slope rating is one of the highest in the northeast.
    public, 18 hole, 6684 yds, Par 71, CR-73.1, S-148
  • The Green Course features gentle slopes and small greens. It is an excellent course for the casual golfer, but can be made more difficult by playing from the regulation tees.
    public, 18 hole, 6123 yds, Par 71, CR-69.5, S-121
  • The Red Course features long par 4s and dogleg holes and one of the toughest starting holes in the country.
    public, 18 hole, 6555 yds, Par 70, CR-71.2, S-124
  • The front nine of the Blue Course are considered very challenging, with an easier back nine to finish a round of golf. Some slopes are fairly steep.
    public, 18 hole, 6406 yds, Par 72, CR-70.9, S-122
  • The Yellow Course, with a few steep slopes, is perhaps the easiest of the five courses.
    public, 18 hole, 6085 yds, Par 71, CR-68.6, S-119

  • Gov. Alfred E. Smith/Sunken Meadow
Located on the northwest shore of Long Island, this course has 27 holes, which can be plated as either a 9 or 10 hole round.

    Montauk Downs
This rather breezy course varies in difficulty with the weather.
    public, 18 hole, 6289 yds, CR-71.2, S-130

    Sag Harbor
    public, 9 hole, 2661 yds, Par 35
